Videogames teach you physics, trigonometry, hand-eye coordinaton, advanced decision making, reflexes, and survival skills. That's not even including the social and teamwork skills you learn in onlie competitive games. Everyone I knkw who is an ACTUAL gamer and not a Madden dude bro or a poser gamer girl is intelligent af. The problem is that you don't apply the latent skilles you've learned from your years of playing videogames.

Maybe it's UX, tactical thinking, game theory... I dunno. I don't play vidya, and I imagine some games have better real world parallels than others

Also fuck chess... Bobby Fischer died a penniless conspiracy theorist. Not everyone is Stanley Kubrick or Vladimir Nabokov who while Chess obsessives had other, more sociological interests.

I manage 45 tons an hour input on a factory and have become one of the best operators there.

Started at 20, also retardedly much tg and vidya in my youth

I treat the proces like a game and play to win, to do a better job than my other collegues, to do better than I did yesterday.

But it's auite volatile and everchanging, lots of proces jobs are simple presets and surveillance

Plus reflexes and quick thinking

And a lot of ingame knowledge

Chess is propped up to be more intellectual because the classical world has always hailed it as intellectual, when in reality, it's a solved game robots can beat humans 99% of the time.
