I started trading in January 2016 right when Ethereum was taking off on Poloniex. Back then it was common for a coin to spike shortly after being listed, where as now it is not as likely. EXP and RAD are two examples. I bought $40 worth of EXP the night it was listed, woke up the next morning to it being 1000%+ and ended up selling for $550. I can't remember which coin it was, but one pumped all the way to 3000%+, I made money off that as well, but not at the 3000% level. I've gotten a lot more hesitant in my trading since then, which has probably done more harm than good to me.
