I'm someone who develops websites, and in this day and age the golden ticket to job security is getting a position with small companies or non-profit organisations.
I'm not sure how to go about doing this however.
tl;dr how do I become a webmaster for a small business or non-profit organisation?
I'd like to know too

How is that the golden ticket? You'll get paid shit and have no prospects for advancing your career

all the duties (of the few thatthere are) fall onto one person, guaranteeing job security
and unless you're third world, the money is pretty decent.

A lot of entrepreneurs want to create a self-sustaining business that can run without them. And that can mean even jobs like keeping a vps server online and uploading hyperlinks twice a week need to be delegated.
Those aren't the most exciting jobs, but if it works and you keep some backups no one will complain.
