How the fuck am I supposed to launch a website when every single .com domain name is taken?
Is it worth using another top level domain like .shop or .store?

Youre mentally challenged if you think every .com is taken. I registered my families LAST fucking NAME on .com and its a 5 letter fucking word.
You need to grow up
Just gotta get creative. And no you don't want anything but .com
I got this one a few years back: www.sidesinspace.com

Depends what the website is. If it's specific to a country then you can use that country's TLD like .com.au for Aus and .co.nz for NZ.
If it's worldwide then yeah .com is the best.

Are you joking?
I've been inputting names into 123-reg.co.uk for the past hour and whilst .co.uk and others might be available, .com never is.

Well a lot of times you can buy the domain name you want if it is not being used. Just message the owner and throw out an offer.
lol literally two .com domains that I wanted for a couple of new things were still available and I got them a few days ago, just be a bit more creative. Look through dictionaries/long list of words etc for alternative ideas.

>I've been inputting names into 123-reg.co.uk for the past hour
>what is bulk domain search?
use flippa, sedo, or GoDaddy auctions to buy one
I made up a name for my website a week ago just fine. Consisting of English words.

I do also own a couple other new extensions, just in case. I wouldn't mind using the new extensions to be honest, as long as they are backed by a reliable party.

What's your last name? Fk9z0?

.co is the new .com
.ai if edgy artificial intelligence BS
.io if edgy general computer BS
combos are popular:
assf.ac/e
poo.in/loo
subdomains are also possible, so if something is taken you just shift the period until you find something not taken
cunt.fuck.er (actually might be worth sniping)
cun.tfuck.er
cu.ntfuck.er
etc.
