Bump
I thought this would be an easy one
Wordpress is nearly foolproof, in that I managed to buy a domain and set up a basic website with it.

If you buy through Wordpress, dont you have to use their services though? I was hoping for a /biz approved independent domain seller

This is why we cant have nice things
Godaddy is great for hosting along with hostgator. ipage is a little weird but it works.
For more domains, go with namecheap or name.com, either is 1/3rd the price of going through any regular host. google is ranking .us with relative ease of posting. You have to have some content and BL before it will post a .us but not nearly as much as any of the other meme TLDs. Only bringing this up because the price is 88 cents

Domain names - Namecheap - has 88 cent domains
Hosting - Hostgator, iPage, Vultr, etc. - All basic hosting plans are pretty much the same.
SSL - CloudFlare or LetsEncrypt
