did I fuck up?

No. In any event it is unlikely you will lose all your investment for many years.
no, what you did is perfectly fine, but given your apprehension, you should grow some balls.

how did you invest in oil?
>>1718473
What did you invest in? Did you buy one of the oil ETNs, specific oil companies, or straight up oil futures?
You should be fine, this year looks pretty promising for oil. If the macro trends fall apart, at least there will probably be more tension in the Middle East since Trump is hawkish on Iran and ISIS.
Good luck famalam. I used to be really into oil in 2014-2015 and made a shitload in late 2015 betting on DWTI when it surged to 400. A shame it was just for an investing competition my school offered and not IRL, but I'll take my victories where I can. Since then, I've kinda avoided commodities because of the whole bear market.
Godspeed anon, enjoy your gains.

youre asking afterwards?

You kinda fucked up, yeah. Oil stocks, ETFs and even USO and shit are overpriced. Oil prices will not rise that much in the next year. Shitty companies like CHK and SDRL are priced like crude is at 70$ and it won't get that high for several years.
That said, unless that company will die from it's debt and go bankrupt, or it's a shitty futures based stock like USO, hold on to it for the next 20 years when stock prices match crude prices and you'll eventually make a profit.
