Which are your experiences and if you have never worked in one maybe you know someone who did?

Does it require elite skills, i've read at MBB you should be almost "gifted" level intelligence to get

Whats the work life balance, pay , exit ops ecc.

Basically tell me all you know.

BCG gave a talk once at my uni to grad students. They literally said they have two requirements for potential hires: come from an ivy leave school, and have a record of academic excellence all throughout undergrad and grad school. Everything else is taught in their week of training in Barcelona. The guy presenting had a phd in zoology. They said they valued people with advanced degrees irrespective of the field because they're used to crunching and analyzing data.

Why would they require Ivy League graduates when they're based in Barcelona or am i missing something?
I suppose Spain has it's own Business Schools.

He mentioned at BCG compensation is great, the network is incredible, but in return you are pretty much in work mode 24/7 and always flying to see clients. The company tries to add some balance by what they call "norms", special allowances for your individual needs to balance out work/life, but outside of these times you are always open to be contacted in relation to work. For example one employee has a norm of having 2 hours in her day where she is not to be contacted to be able to spend with her children. Another guy has a norm of one hour of gym time every day where he is not to be disturbed.

It is a lot of work but you can probably retire early.

For another perspective you should probably read Keith Yost's blog articles on his experience in bcg.

BCG is a global company. They fly new recruits to an intensive retreat in Barcelona where they teach them all the business/consulting skills they need to know (hence why you don't need to have a degree in business).

Interesting, so basically i gather that in USA (I'm European) you have no shot at BCG unless you're the top of class from an IVY.

Close friend of my is trainee in Big 4, told me once about Mckinsey. Said that people strained their anus when a Mckinsey consultant came by.

Can somebody explain this to me? Heard they are the real deal...
>>

Maybe I misrepresented. He didn't exactly say ivy league but he said top school. The talk he gave was at University of Toronto in Canada.
>>
>>1709889
Maybe because most consultants suggest firing people to make companies more efficient and streamlined.
>>
>>1709927
Are Consultants the ones who suggest firing people to the clients?
>>
>>1709801
Consulting is a meme created by business schools to make students study harder

Tfw everyone from consulting got straight As, went into consulting, then left consulting. Skip to step 3. More efficient.
>>
Should rather get into IT consulting. It's easier to get recognized as a specialist. There are lots of Business Majors with a knack for technology working implementing Orcale, SAP etc..
>>
McKinsey, BCG and Bain don't belong in the same tier as the others IMO
