Is there a legal basis in the US to prosecute someone for cryptocurrency scams like a fake wallet or a ponzi scheme?

Does anyone have experience?

Is it profitable?

nah, i was just trying to imagine a fake bitcoin wallet very hard and how you would possibly think it could be used for fraud, i couldn't guess you were talking about compromised apps.

Even easier than that, just create a phising site that looks like an online wallet, but the address it gives the user is actually a wallet you control. They try to load the wallet and send money to you instead
