Anyone know whats going on with ETH? I kind of want to buy some but not sure if its gonna have any more potential in going up price
3 month downtrend, of course theres more upside
Update : Just bought 20 units of ETH. Lets see how it goes
I bought some ETH a while back but looking back, it seems like a dumb decision. ETH is too complicated for it to ever become the next big thing.

it's literally bitcoin with scripting
>>1707414
Let's not pretend that bitcoin didn't get big solely because it's used to buy drugs.
Hell, I probably understand more about computers than 99% of the population and I still don't know what the fuck ETH should be used for. And this is after actually reading about it.

A game just came out where you can play to win ETH
http://etherplay.io
Pretty fun desu
I dont think ETH will ever take off big time but i must admit after all the shit that went down and all the problems and bugs its been pretty resilient.

>You need a browser add-on at the very least to play it
>Once it becomes popular bots will dominate the game
I just don't see any practical use of ETH right now or in the near future.
>>1707531
People said the exact same thing about BTC.
Lmao you fools never learn.
>>1707540
Like I said, the practical use of BTC was to buy drugs from Silkroad. What's the practical use of ETH going to be when BTC already exists?
>>1707531
Me neither but its on cb so I copped a few gains are alright so far
>>1707531
soon
>>1707555
Er. Smart Contracts.
>>1705996
I really want to purchase ETH but NY is the biggest nanny state in the country
>>1708169
Are there any examples of a useful smart contract?
Max potential for ETH ? Any other good cryptocurrency to invest in?

Imagine you have a dire need to double your money and you are willing to gamble to do it. A casino has overhead and needs to make a profit, so the best you can really do to double still is going to have a 1-1.5% house edge. A simple ethereum contract could wait until two people are willing to bet, take a .000001 cut, and give the money to the winner. Because it is impossible to cheat, it is the cheapest casino and therefore the best odds you could find and trust.

Same thing for a lottery. The state will take 75% of your money and put 25% towards the jackpot and then pick a winner. ETH could do the same service without 75% house edge built in.
