So according to pic related, income stocks should be king. So why are they only recommended for retirement?
>>
because they are clueless grandpas who are living in the last century.. Bitcoin is the path to early retirement

Ok, ignore the whole Bitcoin thing for a moment. My question was more around why people but growth stocks at all instead of just buying high income stocks and using that income to buy more stocks
>>
>>1705930
well it's the price anon. a stock with low dividends will be less prohibitively priced in a bull market.

there is a very short time-frame amidst great market anxiety where you can actually buy dividend stocks at reasonable price. because every fucking body want's them and competes over them.
>>
>>1706273
and also there is a possibility that a stock that doesn't pay much in dividends is a company that develops great and a few years later there will be very good dividends on it. it's a gamble with not actually bad chances. you have to understand that stocks are not strictly priced by their current value but by their expected value.
>>
Because over the past several years people have been buying dividend stocks as a proxy for bonds, and trading bonds as a proxy for growth stocks.

Everyone, everywhere is clamoring for yield. This is an indication that we're in the final third of a bull market: the euphoria phase.

i agree, but this euphoria is artificially fueled by qe, and there is no telling how long they intend to push it on.
