My personal favorite economist. Monetary stimulus is more effective than fiscal stimulus and he's been vindicated for the most part. Bernanke admitted that the Fed caused the Great Depression by having too tight of a monetary policy, which Friedman posited with Schwartz in A Monetary History of the United States.

An absolute Genius.
All you have to do is look at Venezuela, then look at Chile. That's his legacy put in practice.

I agree with a lot of the things he said. What I find funny is how he was saying these things 30+ years ago and the retard liberal leftists of today are still unwilling to acknowledge it even though teh circumstances are the exact same.
I disagree with his negative interest proposal. Seems fuckin stupid to me
Predicted Bitcoin's superiority in the future... so he can't be dumb.

>Monetary stimulus is more effective than fiscal stimulus
That's quite a silly claim, because it's the combination of monetary stimulus and fiscal stimulus that counts. And the lower that interest rates are set, the less that can be done with monetary stimulus - so at the moment fiscal stimulus is more important.
Also, monetary stimulus is applied evenly across the country, whereas fiscal stimulus can be targeted to the regions where stimulus is needed most.
As for the views on what caused the great depression, the monetarist view and the Keynesian view are essentially the same, though the former's expressed in a much simpler way.

Fuck off to /pol/ 8pol leftyfag. Your shilling is futile but at least keep it to pol.
one of the most well rounded economists, he takes a lot of flak from keyneshills because he was right

You're attributing a causal relationship that isn't really there.
The standard of living dropped in Chile when the Friedmanites took over. And it rose in Venezuela when the socialists took over.
I'm not disputing the fact that the Venezuelan socialists were poor economic managers. Their opposition to markets cost Venezuela dearly. But the thing that did most damage to the Venezuelan economy was officially maintaining the Bolivar's peg to the US dollar despite declining oil prices.

End the Fed
The God of conspiracy theorists and racists. It's funny how things went to shit when idiots like Reagan and Thatcher started doing what he said. The guy was an insane ideologue who tends to attract bottom of the barrel idiots. There's a reason no intelligent economist listens to him. He should be considered an American traitor, as he really encouraged and fought for the end of the American dream.
