How does anyone live on a 1$ salary like Mark Zuckerberg does and Eric Schmidt did, even Warren Buffett pays himself just a hundred thousand dollars annually and Jeff Bezos even less than that, 80,000$. This doesn't make sense.
How do these people afford their mansions, private jets and yachts? What do they do when they need more money? Sell their shares?

they make most of their money from capital gains. The interest they accumulate from their assets is more than some shitty 400k salary, it looks nice to deny a salary, but it is just a gesture, they aren't actually losing out on much relatively.

Capital gains are taxed at a much lower rate than most people's income taxes.
