So why isn't anyone actually investing long any more? It feels like people are trading and flipping nowadays. How does this effect the economy?

The economy today is more dynamic. There's more competition and technological progress. This is good for the economy, it causes creative destruction.
Just look at the evolution of computers/the internet and smartphones to see how this benefits consumers.

I generally spend my days wagecucking, trying to find fun hobbies that pay a little, and casually looking for rental real estate. It's slow and boring but I like my life finally. I will do this for 5 or 10 years and step away from work or double efforts on investing
