Lets get a business thread. It doesn't matter wether you're making $5 or $5,000,000, you're welcome here. I'll start of course.

>What your business does
I live in NYC, and have people out in SF, London, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jordan and a few other states in the US, operating a company. I own the company and I started it when I was 20.
Basically, we offer local companies and small businesses (mostly traditional brick and mortar stores), business services such as leafleting, cleaning and accounting.
>How much profit do make
We charge the companies we work for every month, depending on the plan they have chosen. This year, we've netted almost $600k (when you convert the currencies from the middle east and UK), this has been one of our best years yet.
>Tips
Ask me anything, I'll be sure to give tips. I'm all about sharing, I've been offered hefty ammounts of money to mentor people but I choose to do it for free. So AMA :)

I also have a question.
What are your guys' outlooks for 2017 and beyond, whats gonna be the next big thing in your opinion?

ITT:

Give advice to other anons if you feel you can give a piece of your knowledge they could use.

Discuss the possibility of business in 2017 and what the best markets for a startup business are.

Discuss scalability and ultimately, making MORE AND MORE MONEY. After all, that what we do this for, right?

What was it like when you first started? I'm starting an online business that acts like an out-sourcing kind of gig for companies to use. I do everything from writing, video editing, graphic design, website creation, customer service, email marketing, adsense/adwords/seo services, data entry, resume writing, tech support, social media marketing, project managing, virtual assistant work and so on.

It's just myself at the moment, but from one business to another, how was the first few months like?

What advice could you give me? I've been working non-stop the past 20 days and I've been working with about four different clients to get me started.

What sets you apart from someone who specializes in any of the areas you listed?

There's no way you are competent in all of those categories. Find your niche and stick with it until you are able to find more people to expand your portfolio of services.

I'm thinking of starting a LLC, kind of a unique situation that played itself out. I started managing a semi-pro counterstrike team for the hell of it about two years ago. I ran social media, made decisions for the team such as what tournaments to compete in, buying the team into tournaments, esea/cevo seasons, coordinating practices with other teams at our skill level, mediating problems between players, and helping coordinate tryouts when one player is kicked or quits.

I was just having fun with it until companies started contacting me with big sponsorship opportunities and other teams in Overwatch, h1z1, and league of legends have been asking me to manage them, although I'm not too sure how it would be profitable other than tournament winnings and a percentage of stream revenue. Neither of which are very reliable, but I think making a living from esports is a gamble no matter how you spin it.

That is retarded. There is no fucking way you can be good enough to be better than specialists in all of those categories. Pick a niche and do your best to dominate it.

Slow. Very slow. It took me 2 months to get one client, who wanted out after a month of business, becasue he "can do things himself". Which is funny becasue I heard that same guy called back wanting our serivces again only recently.
The best bit of advice I can give to you is to have a strong start and actually be good at what you do, becasue thats how to keep a cleint for a long ammount of time.

How much do you charge? Because Duct Tape Marketing are pretty steep and they seem to do similar things to you.

Interesting, those guys usually have quite a large fan base, be it on YouTube or Twitch... How about trying to take a % of their earning from their streams for X service you can offer them?

I'm considering that, all of the counterstrike players gain at least 50 twitch followers a week and one of them recently hit 4,000.

I can do so much more with it if I quit my day job, but going into it full time is a big financial gamble that can pay off big or bankrupt me. I guess that's what being a full time entrepreneur is
