How much money can I expect to make as an attorney? Criminal defense sounds fun.
Thinking about Arkansas, Texas, or Oklahoma.

well at least there's lots of crime there.

Exactly!!

> Poor
Texas is probably top 5 in wealth in our country anon.
But anyway OP, being a lawyer is not "fun". It pays a lot and that's about the only redeeming feature.
Also criminal law is not where the money is. Most people go with dreams of justice and end up a corporate bitch so they can make $200k+.
The sky is the limit for a dedicated lawyer though. Move up, make partner, etc... A good lawyer can make half a million a year.

it rates 25th in per capita income. It'd definitely one of the poorer states.

the same people found in Colorado and California, both of which have way higher income.
Mexican migrants are improving Texas' wealth, not hurting it.
Actually law is very poorly paying. Don't go into law unless you want to be poor.
