I'm 19 and I've only ever worked for one summer in a bookshop which means fuck all.
How do I write a resume to get a job to supplement my student life when I have no real previous work experience?
Anon what kind of job are you looking for?

is totally okay
Temp agencies. Mostly general labor but they have a few office positions.
In 22 and the job I'm at now I got through a temp to hire back when I was 19. It was at a plastic plant though. I'm making 20.50 a hour now operating a 3 story tall machine that makes hand/wet wipes material that gets shipped out to Clorox and whoever else produces them. They have given me about every OSHA certification I have asked for. I don't wanna become a fork lift driver but can you certify me anyways. Sure no problem. I was sitting on my phone the last hour watching death videos. How do I do CPR if somebody would to pass out for whatever reason. We can train you on that and get you certified. Really good company.
Probably won't stay here though. The schedule is hectic. But I got certifications for just about everything and experience in machine operating and quality control. Will probably save for a few more years or until my parents finally kick me out then find a similar job with a better schedule so I can go to school for management classes and move up to line lead then supervisor then hopefully someday production manager.

What about positions in retail that require me to work off of commission so I have to develop my salesmanship skills?

That sounds like you've hit a goldmine there for young people. Nice one anon!
