What domains does /biz/ have?
OP here.
I just picked up TheMinimap.com and ProfessionalJournalism.com for vidya / other.
So if I want to buy a domain what are the costs?

$0.99 on Godaddy to buy just the domain
But you need hosting (7+/mo) to host any webpages

Godaddy is for moms and pops and idiots.
used to hold 6 tld for a long time, but this year i downsized to 3: one personal, one business, one hobby/artistic.
i used to think having international tld names is cooler and more promising for the future but i still find myself conducting most of my business locally and so i axed several english tlds, mostly out of frustration of having to constantly spell out very easy english words to dumb locals.
What do you guys think of the new domain extensions?
I was looking at the number of registraitions of each new domain extension, and many don't even have 30k registrations. (see https://namestat.org )
So I was wondering. Are new extensions an opportunity, as you can get good names for your website?
Or are they a business risk for your website, as many have the potential to go out of business?

You're too cool for this school!
I bet the ladies really love you.
Domains? A lot. This thread actually reminded me of them. No point in saying them because no website is attached to them.
Domain and hosting are two different things. Domains are extremely cheap or extremely expensive based on how valued the name is, but hosting is where you'll spend a lot of money.
I mostly just collect domains because I liked the name of something and it was a fair price to me. I'll probably never do anything with them, but it always leaves that possibility open to inspire me to go into a different avenue. However, I could just sit on them and sell them later. Win-win.
