so you just keep all your money in cash under your mattress or something? explain

Dividend yielding etfs and reits. Banks have atrocious interest rates right now.
>>1658242
Here's a loosely kept secret, friend:
They're both the same
"Credit union" is just a name for a bank.
>>1658301
Completely different things. Banks pay interest on your deposits while credit unions pay dividends.
>>1658364
And how are those different in the real world? Really. I'm curious.
>>1658376
i guess because interest rates are regulated by the central bank where dividends are not? not sure if its more complex than that
So it looks like you guys know about as much as I do. I'm glad I posted this. Can somebody clear clear this up?

The one with the highest interest rates and the one that doesn't fuck me over during an economic collapse.
>FDIC insured
Yeah right LOL
Aside from getting fucked by annual services fees I would say credit union. No big difference really though aside from the fact that not support online like most big banks.
>>1658464
True, but that's just a difference on paper. The actual returns, whether paid as interest or dividends, are going to be somewhere between 0.05% and 1%. I think the anon above was just talking out of his butthole.
>>1659121
True, but when you're getting less than 1%, it really doesn't matter. You're losing out big time to inflation; bank accounts are not investments.
>>1658242
Credit Union because I am not rich enough to utilize the benefits banks offer, instead my ass would be raped by account fees
Bank.
I like having access to many branches. I don't see why people dislike banks.
I live in Canada and I've NEVER had an issue with my bank before.

>account fees
What fees? At my bank all fees pretty much are waived if you maintain a balance of at least $3 000.
