Freelance sites are often inadequate for the freelancers and low-quality for the customers. The only person who wins is the site itself, which collects a chunk of every regret-laden transaction.

Fiverr takes 20% of your profits. That's HUUUGE. You'll probably think "oh that's just €1" now, but you will soon find out the whole "all gigs are €5, is a big meme" and even if it wasn't, when you count it all up, it's still a huge difference. You are better of finding a platform with (way) lower fees and/or find buyers directly.

Do you like being low balled by clients who know jack and shit about hiring a person or their own project?
Do you enjoy undercutting other freelancers who reused to do the above by being the clients second or more choice?
Then freelance sites are for you.
Sites like this are more concerned about taking a cut of your small peanuts and nothing more.
If you have a client who won't pay you end up having to hassle them. If there is a rating system it will be abused. Being good at what you do will have very little to do with your success on these sites because naive novices and a variety of Pajeets will happily take gigs that pay close to nothing.
