What are the chances of a dollar collapse next year? Is it possible that the interest rate hike will burst the debt bubble?
If Yelled and Obongo end QE abruptly, a certainty.
If they don't, prepare for greatness.

But Trump's policies will add to the debt a lot more than even Obama's. Coupled that with his trade restrictions, wouldn't inflation skyrocket?

QE has been over for years. I think you're referring to ZIRP/ LIRP

Collapse: zero
Decline: high

>thinks rising interest rates weakens the currency instead of strengthens it
You're fucking economically illiterate

Not when the underlying conditions that actually spur economic growth is on shaly grounds. 1/3 of americans have no savings. 62 percent have less than $1000. Baby boomers retiring at record pace and will stop spending as much to halt economic growth. Home values are inflated as are stocks. Corporations have used low interest rates to engage in stock buybacks. Students are in 1Trillion dollars worth of debt. Do you really think an interest rate hike, in an economy fueled by debt, will not lead to some sort of recession?

Interest rate hike brings money into the country though. Everyone gonna want those bonds.

Interest hike will result in banks parking more money in the country, but none of it will flow through to the real economy.
who knows? gold and silver went down instead of up. the market and the dollar rallied. trump still doesn't give a fuck. THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES FOR FUCKS SAKE. we've entered bizarro world and nothing makes sense anymore. get ready to see some shit.
Never really thought about it because I never had debt and am not planning on getting a mortgage.
But if the value of the currency increases it's technically bad for people with debt right?
