Hello there /biz/ over the past few months, I have decided to stop being a pleb and have been saving money to start properly investing, trading. Though I am looking for a good, comprehensive, book or guideline to help further my understanding of the market, so I don't screw myself
Any recommendations?

Make sensible investments in index funds like the vanguard 500 or low risk stocks and continue to trade paper for months and months. As you trade paper and learn more you will discover some of your predictions were wrong and you had many misconceptions about things, at some point I am sure you will believe you have ironed out enough flaws and are sure enough about a prediction to put some money into a reasonable stock. You need to diversify as you will learn so it is better to put only a small amount of new money you have saved, as opposed to paying extra fees to move money around. As long as you don't pour all your money into some meme penny stock you should do fine.

Not planning on making a fortune or an income off of it, I have a profession and a full-time job. I'm just interested in making a little bit more so I have more savings (for emergencies, needs, if I plan on moving, etc), I understand my limitations and risks fully.

That's pretty much my plan. I would hope to trade some high-volatility stocks at one point, though this is not my goal. I have no plans on throwing my money on stupidly high-risk plays, if I ever get to a point where I can afford to take that risk, I may from time to time, but it is not my agenda at all.
On a bit of a side note, what blogs/publications do you all tend to favor? I have found a few, though I would like to see what successful individuals are following.
