Being a Smart Scammer

Let me warn you against scamming for charities.

People are more likely to be skeptical of charities and investigate. And they're more likely to be more pissed off and pursue greater legal punishments to virtue signal, like "LOOK IM SUCH A GOOD PERSON BECAUSE IM GETTING BACK AT THIS DIRTY ROTTEN FAKE CHARITY SCAMMER!"

With this in mind, how do I pull off a Hiroyuki?

I'd have to be in some kind of position of power or trust, then trick people or abuse my power to convince them of my need for money towards X cause.

What cause can I springboard off of to rake in dough- wait a minute.

What if I actually run a non-profit?

What if I actually do run a charity and give most of the profits to those who need it/take action with it and give myself only, lets say, 10%. That would be fair wouldn't it?

Why does it have to be a scam?
If you're gonna put so much effort into something, why not make it at least semi-legitimate and save yourself the risk?
