Is it a good idea to invest in start-up companies or buy stocks from start-up companies?
Start up is a bubble
Most startups are also fucking pointless and un-monetizable
What about investing in marijuana related businesses? I live in California would that be that a good idea?

This. It really bigs me when people come to me and tell me their ideas, and get all offended when I tell them the reality, that is the reality of their idea being fucking trash.

spamming this wont help your wack ass investment faggot
There are two kinds of startups:
1. Ones that think small and will probably just get by.
2. Ones that think big and will probably grow huge or go bankrupt.
It is difficult to predict with enough accuracy which startups will make it and which won't.
Statistically I would expect a publicly listed company to have made progress already and have some chance, though it is still difficult to predict whether it is overvalued or undervalued or how other investors will react.

Is it not easy to guess which start up will blow up?

This. Only invest in a startup if:
A) the person starting it has worked in the industry, successfully, for years and has a rock solid idea and way of selling it
B) It will make money almost immediately, and be profitable within 2 years
C) You put some money into it, that you would be okay with losing all of it.
