I work in IT as a Service Desk Analyst. Currently making 41k salary with no qualifications apart from high school. What's the best course I could take (MCSEs, ITIL etc) to improve my job prospects and pay?

BUMP?
how tf u get an it job with no college
Try to specialise. I'd say citrix, ms server exams, Cisco. You need to be a cut above the other service desk people. I've switched to it project management, it's a shit job at times but pays double.

Its really really easy
Dropout making 70k reportan
But You dont even speak English so the barrier of entry is about 10x harder for you.

ITIL is good for theory at the beginning. Msca/msce is well thought of.newer technology like Amazon AWS and ms azure are the future so would be good to get skills in this area. I know some highly paid ppl that have specialized in VMWare.
Get your CCNA. You will be able to get a 60k salary when you get a new job

I did some work experience in the field while I was still at school, and I have good English and communication skills so I managed to get a job. If you're Indian or something and aren't so good with that kinda thing then you probably will need to education to compensate.

Thanks for the response. What do you reckon would be the most useful in general? Microsoft Server certifications? I'm think that maybe.

Yeah I have heard of ITIL as well, not sure how useful it would be tho since I already have several years of experience in servicedesk work.
I'm looking at MSCAs on Seek. https://www.seeklearning.com.au/searchresults?searchterm=MCSA
There's Office 365, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012... I wonder which would be best for getting another job in general? And which wouldn't go out of date too fast.

Jesus Christ they pay 41k for that role in the US? Unbelievable.

ITIL is useless until you have enough experience in the field. Then it's still useless, but it will check a box under HR's requirements when you're applying for IT manager roles.
Do your CCENT/CCNA. You'll instantly up your paygrade. Then start specialising with other quals - the Cisco security ones, AWS Architect (this is particularly easy and sought after at the moment), VM Ware certs.
