What does /biz/ think about high yield online savings accounts like pic related?
Thinking of opening one since my current savings account just has money sitting in it that I didn't put into my 401k.

Online only banks aren't bad. I've been with USAA for years and never had to actually step into a bank branch for anything. Their customer service is amazing, but I found similar service with Ally with a much better rate, so I switched.

I was looking at ally too. Synchrony has a slightly better rate (1.05 vs 1.00) but i'm afraid their customer service won't be as good
They have much higher fees in my experience negating the few bucks youd make in interest. Look for a decent local bank

Goldman Sachs is 1.05%

Purely looking at numbers, I asked myself: on a $1000.00 savings account balance, am I gonna lose sleep over that $0.50 difference? For me, the answer was no and I'll gladly give up $0.50 to have a bank that has a higher customer service rating, especially because it's an online bank and I can't go to a branch and heckle a teller.
