>Business selling a small handmade product
>Sales will be through Ebay, Etsy and Amazon to begin with. The website is mainly to have a reassuring presence.

>Britfag...I've read some places that using a UK host is better. Others say it doesn't matter, a US one is fine.
Help me decide on providers or tell me about your own experiences pls.

Whatever you do don't use justhost. I got multiple hidden fees over the years from them. Use namecheap for both domain and hosting. Gmail for custom domain is free, just setup SMTP and email forwarding.
Also, should I get a dedicated Microsoft/Google business email?
Or if I have a good host, and they offer email, I could just use the email they provide?

1&1 have a poor reputation.
Hostgator and Godaddy are for moms & pops & idiots. Nothing says clueless as loudly than these companies.
Namecheap for the domain is the only choice among those you list.
Actually, for a tiny new site, it does not matter too much if you are hosted in the US or UK. The peering is quite good with eastcoast US Just ask the host for a test IP and ping it.

What are you paying for your webspace? Pretty sure i can offer you a VPS for the same price without hidden fees

just get the cheapest hostgator plan. you have very basic needs.
avoid godaddy like the plague, they are king of nickel and diming.
Some guy from the discord channel made a full guide a while ago. Goes through buying domain, setting up email and website. https://www.bettrfastr.com
