Alpha and beta are terms that really don't accurately reflect social dominance.

Everyone's social dominance fluctuates and is relative to who they are around, amongst many other factors such as their mood, nutrition, etc.

There is no hard coded "alpha" atrribute that is acquired by an individual. People aren't "born" alpha or beta. They are simply terms, and are extremely misused.
