It's funny how when Fort Mc burned down, oil prices went up and stocks shot right up.

Now oil prices are up at the same level, but oil stocks are doing nothing

Yeah, my "boring" stocks (banks, REITs) are outperforming all of my shitty ass gold and mining juniors this year. I'm sitting on double digit losses on most of them.

I don't even know why the fuck that happened since gold only lost like 3% at the start of September.

What exactly happened between fall/winter of 2015 and early 2016 when it all rebounded. I know the commodities lifted off, but what was driving all of it?

There seemed to have been no news or analysis. Was it simply a season trend?

Sold all my CGC stocs before they started to fall. Now I'm banking on 'Alliance Mining Corp' to rocket.

Yeah mining is about to pick up - gold is going I to an exploration phase again which means they think it's going to have its day again.

Oil and gas must be about to see a heap of mergers realised, now that they're all so confident the worst is over (and have given everyone the sack, so there's some money floating about...)

Our options are diminishing though - looks like TD Ameritrade is gonna buy Scottrade

Yeah it's quite amazing... Not that it's just 4chan either but Canadians in general seem awful at investing - the only two I know who get involved have no research other than bloomberg on all day (incidentally makes them very boring to chat with)

No. my only direct exposure to Canadian markets is in the cannabis sector and an REIT ETF. I also picked up a materials ETF this summer, which is includes about 30% Canadian holdings. Good returns so far.

I'm also researching some Canadian mining companies with good fundamentals to invest in, but focusing on cannabis and health sector companies right now.
