Has anybody had experience of trying to raise a social media following? Is it deceptively tough to amass large numbers and get them engaged so you can, at least indirectly, push shit to them? (my business plans include selling media - self-help videos, self-help books, etc.)

I often make ads for my cryptocurrencies on an anonymous Eritrean comedian board.
>>
>>1583746

You give 4chan money?!
>>
>>1583940
No, I only make shill threads
>>
>>1583743
Have you tried producing and publishing unique but high quality content?
if that fails to work, come back and then we can work out why.
>>
>>1583743
the reason why it's difficult for you to do that is because your business plan includes trying to make money in one of the most saturated markets out there right now

everyone and their fucking mother are trying to be mass marketers pushing out self-help and motivation and business advice

if you can become the next Gary V then good on you bro. but it's going to be a rough fucking ride
>>
>>1584201
and not only are you getting into a market which is already highly saturated, you're also trying to gain a market share in a sub-market which is itself also highly saturated.
>>
>>1584201
This. But if you're a smaller channel, contact larger channels and ask to collab so you get more exposure. You'll also have to have a modicum of talent and likability to write good material. It'll likely take over a year to start to see any growth, if not longer.

Or cash into kpop becoming a growing fandom. If you could find a way to buy into the trend with a creative and funny pursuit then you have yourself a successful channel, I promise you.

What is the best social media platform to try and make it on? I don't want to show my face.
>>
>>1584340
There is no best. It's like asking what's the best car. What's the best sandwich. What's the best ice cream. Everyone has a different opinion.

You have to market on all of them. Analyze your traffic to see which ones are bringing in conversions. Then you can cut the poor performers to focus on the gold mines.

Start with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, Google+, Youtube. You don't need to show your face on anything.

>I don't want to show my face.
Still youtube, and plenty of things you could think up like what this guy does
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAQExHJHqc0
or what this guy does
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iw5PI9qCMFo
>>

>80k subscribers
They make like 50$ a month.
>>
>>1584361
Check out night mind's patreon, friend. More than 50 bucks a month. https://www.patreon.com/nightmind
>>
>>1584361
you made the mistake of assuming youtube content creators only source of revenue is adsense.
>>
>>1584363
That's less than 40k a year, including the 50$ he gets from Youtube.
>>
>>1584369
you jumped from $50 a month to $40k a year with 1 bit of information. imagine if you saw the whole picture.
>>
>>1584369
The guy went from doing it for fun in is room when he had time to doing it full time. His subscriber count doubled in less than half a year. Point is, he's a growing channel. He'll get more viewers, more subscribers, more ad revenue and more patrons in addition to future potential for merchandise as he grows.

Do you seriously expect to be making six figures within one year of whatever social media site you plan to pursue success on?
>>
>>1584371
What else is left? He has only 80k subscribers so I doubt that people are paying him to endorse their stuff or if he even has any sponsors.
>>
>>1584387
>Do you seriously expect to be making six figures within one year of whatever social media site you plan to pursue success on?
Not really, I don't really have plans for any such thing. I just saw your post and thought that I'd aware you that he isn't really making a lot from Youtube with so few subscribers.
>>
>>1584389
Why are you such a hater? There's so many things a Youtube content creator can do to grow their income. Vitalyzdtv for instance runs an ecommerce site for his fashion products.
>>
>>1584394
It's likely his sole purpose of income now, if he's living off of it and has no dependents it's definitely a great start. He's probably living pretty comfortably on that income alone. Sounds like "making it" to me, and he's only going to grow from here.
>>
>>1584399
and he also does porn.
