buy some earbuds at TJ Maxx or some electronic store (if you want to keep them) and just return them after.
Earbuds are worse than headphones but earbuds also make you look like a normal person. Typically normal headphones are only worn by autists, children, or people who are deep into audio quality.
You fall into the first catagory.

the only complaints were early this year with the ear pads but they have returned to the original manufacturing process and the QA is on par.
