Ill have minimal traffic. I know places like host gator have $5 hosting but Im looking for the bare minimum hosting services.
You can't afford $5?
Host it from your computer or go to a free website generator like weebly.

Run a virtual machine from your home computer, open up port 80 on your home router, run one of those DNS redirectors that will point your domain back to your IP
You have to leave your computer on at all times. You'll probably pay more in increased electricity.
There are places that will give you a discount if you buy 2+ years of service at once. If you sniff around you can probably find 3 years of hosting and domain registry for around $150 or less.
Open an AWS account and get a free year of hosting, host modular and backup daily. At the end of the year, get a new card. Repeat.
t. I have run a web design company with this method for three years.

This if you're renting and you don't have electricity costs

woops sorry for the wikileaks link
Gandi, ten bucks or so a year.
No hoops, no bullshit.
Easy peasy.
Build a server yourself, research the shit and you'll be fine.
I use Ramnode. 8 dollars per 3 months for a cheap vps.
Dont forget to back your shit up.

Weebly.
You can host static sites free on github or Dropbox or anywhere. Google Jekyll.

I hate having to pay for passive services.
How much does a server cost nowadays?
