Never had to sign for a package before. My post office serves a town of maybe 50,000 people, probably only even half that cuz there's another office on the other side of town. If I call at 8 AM when their retail office opens, is there a good chance I'd be able to pick it up within 15-20 minutes? It requires a signature, which I didn't realize, and tomorrow morning is when I'll need to pick it up, otherwise it'll have lost its purpose.

You should be able to just drop by, and sign for it. They are slow af (almost everywhere), though.
If it require a signature it means the sender specifically checked it for that (they updated their forms a little while back), and you were home when a carrier stopped by your house. They should have left a little, pink slip with the location, and time you can pick it up.

sometimes you need to wait for them to sort it, and it won't be avail this next day afternoon. It will say on the slip they left on your front door when its available for pickup.

Damn, I need to learn to read. It even says on the notice in a box that says Available for Pick-up After, that its available tomorrow after 8 AM. I'm an idiot. Thanks haha
