Hey /biz/, got any tips to a musician as to how to promote and advertise my music? There's so much music that it's hard to get heard and seen. What do?

YouTube ads are good for that.

good music sells itself, if you need to advertise, your shit is trash and you may as well not even bother trying.

another cheap way I just thought of if you insist on advertising your shit music is to donate to one of those faggot streamers who will play your song of choice on their stream for like a $3 donation.
You'll never find a cheaper way to advertise up to ~10k - ~20k people for $3 dollars
Tip one
>you need to be successful
Tip two
>do whatever it takes to make tip one a reality.
What is the context of your music?
If you play punk music, then you got to be in front of where the punks are.
If you do indietronica then you need a slick image and to build hype around yourself being on the forefront of music.
If you're a DJ... then become a drug-dealer, parlay that cachet into people sitting through your sets. Don't be a DJ, it's the most over-saturated music market imaginable because of it's low barrier to entry and image of glamour.
Most important thing is to offer something beyond the music experience.
Have both a gimmick and make the experience of enjoying your music different to other bands

Smart idea
btw, EDUCATE YOURSELF!

Kneepads.
Not even memeing. That's literally the fastest and surest way to make it in the music biz.
Find owners of botnets, or rent one, and inflate your views/listens on mixcloud, soundcloud, Youtube etc

Dunno about where you live but where I am they generally play at bars/clubs/restaurants for almost next to nothing while working part time at the cinema/coffee shop. Then slowly they get paid more and more until they either get pregnant or get another band member pregnant.
But I'd consider playing music live.

1: sound cloud acc.
2: know your target consumers :
- can you make music for games(can you fruitloop anything? then go to /VG/agdg and offer your skills there)
-are you a Dj of sorts? shill it on /MU/
3 : open your horizons : accept payment in bitcoin
4: ask your friends if they need musicians, and spend some cash on cards.
5 : think about creating a patreon account. But if you do please do it properly if you cant make a good looking thing then ask a designer to do it for you, pay him.
thats what i can think of.
