Hypothetically, how easy would it be to make decent money by writing several shitty fetish/smut ebooks and selling them online? I once saw someone mention about doing that and the effort-profit -relation was apparently somewhat nice. The stuff people sell online was literally something like goblins fucking bored housewives or some retarded shit like that too.
Why don't you try it and find out instead of asking a cambodian competitive underwater basket weaving discussion board? The only thing you'll lose out on is your hentai masturbating time

I'm just asking if someone had already tried it and was willing to share their experience.

Pull a ShindoL, anon: get your chinese cartoon drawing skills up; have awesome fetishes; and move to Japan to sell your work. Afterwards, go shitpost on /jp/ about your success
I think there is a guy here that does that. Basically after years of writing they figured out that their short specialty erotic stories sold the best. Things that address specific fetishes.
In the end though they write a lot and I don't think they earn more than a thousand a month. Not many repeat sales as you think. People want new material.
If I recall they also wrote a novel, but it never sold well at all and took a lot of time.

I already draw animu-lewds, but I'm too slow and not good enough to really make any decent money.

Git gud.
If you're too slow and your art is not up to snuff, then just practice in your free-time.
As the anon above said, you also need to target niches and fetishes if you hope to at least break even. If you think you can handle it, sell your soul and draw furry porn. The fanbase, as I'm sure you know, is loaded and will give anybody money that panders their shitty fetish.
There's no easy way anon, just blood, sweat, and lots of cum.
