Don't often see pensions discussed on here and I could really use advice.
I'm quite lucky to have a final salary(well, career average) type pension that also grows with inflation. I've estimated that if I retire early at 55 and take the huge 40% pension penalty that comes with that, I'd have an income of around £15,000 per year until I die. That's assuming no promotions, so it would probably be a bit more. 15 grand doesn't seem like enough so I'd like another source of income, perhaps another private pension or investment or something.
What are my best options to save for an early retirement? A second pension? Stocks? Property? I have quite a bit of spare money each month and I'm willing to take some risks.
Also, how are you all preparing for retirement?
I've got most of my money in real estate. That's the classic model for mailbox money, but only if you do it correctly.

Anyone else feel like sharing how they plan to finance their retirement?

I would cash out your pension as soon as humanly possibly.
