I've been 15-25 minutes late for work everyday for months now. Was 2.5 hours late a couple weeks ago. I've had a few written and verbal warnings from my manager, is this grounds for getting fired?
Yes, especially since you've had warnings.

Indeed, do it like me, get at work in time and close yourself in the bathroom for 30 minutes saying you got cronic stomacache, no one will bother you. You can also trade forex while you make farting sounds with your mouth
Why are you so damn late all the time. Once every three months is acceptable because shit happens but there's no need to be this late constantly.
You must be the only one who can do your job there but let me tell you a thing. They're actively looking for a replacement and once they find one, your ass is grass.

The time I was 2.5 hours late we had the highest paid person in the building phoning his superiors asking what to do. When I eventually turned up he patted me on the back lol.

Not really if you are not doing pleb tier work or work where other depends on you being on time (e.g. working in bakery, construction, medicine etc.), As long as you do good work it's alright, but definitely not a plus.
When I did a low tier IB internship I had severe sleeping disorders and would be consistently one of the last goys to show up in the office every morning. This was pretty bad. However, when I actually overslept instead of coming three hours late I would just call in sick.

I have been fired from tech firms for being chronically late.

Is this a serious question?
