Someone told me gold is overinflated since about 2010 or so, that its in a bubble and if I buy gold, itll probably lose like 30-40% of its value when the bubble ends

A argument for long term investing in physical gold could start with asking: Where is the physical gold? Lots of gold vaults hove leased their gold out and then it was sold off so they now only have boxes of paper gold contracts.

But an argument against it would be asking about the massive deflationary forces after the credit inflation cycle in history. There is immense deflationary pressures that the central banks have been trying to fight.
