its a website where you find jokes, sounds weird but its true. i wanted something without having problems with copyright. its like a joke archive, with lots of categorys (chuck norris jokes, your mama jokes and so on ) .users can submit jokes and rate them.

at first i did it with a very simple wysiwyg editor. after a year or something i had like 3000-5000 daily views which brought me about 30-40 eur daily ( i can proof all that ). then their were phases where i had about 10.000-15.000 daily views. those phases were lasting about 1-2 month and i never understodd where the views came from because in the main keyword there where no changes in the search results position. so after a year making at least 1000 eur monthly, i decided that my wysiwyg is not good enough anymore compared to the earnings and also i had no rating and submitting funnction. so i hired somebody to make it new with all the functions i wanted. they uses wordpress for it and it costed me 1900 eur.. a bad deal, i know now. i think they didnt pay any attention to all the seo stuff and shortly after uploading the new wordpress edition it went downhill. now i have like 800 views daily.. makes me sad and angry at myself that i didnt follow the rule "never change a winning team"...

unfortunately i think that was part of the problem. the old urls where ending like xxxx.com/chucknorrisjokes.html but on wordpress it was xxxx.com/chucknorrisjokes.php, so all the links werent working anymore, i realised that way to late, maybe 3 moth after the upload. then i tryd to fix it with htacces redirect but i think it was to late and i fucked up because i dont know much about it. the switch was january 2014, i made the website 2012.

the old one wasnt, another reaseon i wanted to make it new. now it is responsive.

You might get lucky a second time and start pucking up more traffic naturally with time. But I'd guess you were pretty lucky the forst time and luck doesn't last forever.

there is one site that is on top now for any related keyword, it wasnt there at all before. also funny is that i was hoping that the "mobilgeddon" would help me, since my site is responsive. but in fact nothing changed, there are sites on a better position, one of them only one above, and they are not responisve, but still dont lose their position and stay above me.. fuck that mobilegeddon..

im hoping for that since almost 2 years now.. its weird because the site is really better now with all the functions.. how long should i wait before i accept that i fucked up?

true but i could understand to lose a few positions but this shit is really fucked up.. i dont understand it because i really try to make the site as userfriendly as possible, no tricks or anything... should i just go back to the old html site? getting help is not so easy because "webdesigners" or any kind of professional wants to have like 80 eur per hour (starting.. some want 150...) as if they where doctors or something..

Seems like your kinda fucked friend. Your best bet is to make sure everything works and then start social promoting or some shit. You probably won't get any links from other websites that will improve your search rankings but having your content shared on social media can move it up some. Google cares more about validation from other websites/ social media now than pure key words.

yeah looks like it.. i hate social media, dont even have a private account on one of those, even though i know how much it could help. tryd it once, but didnt get so many likes for my posts.. people want cat videos diet shit and "heartbreaking" stories.. a good old joke is nothing that gets big attention these days. its just fucked up because these earnings would change my whole life, like they already did back then.. now im back in my shitty job working for 12 eur/hour.

Possible I guess. A lot of them are probably duplicates and from directories and shit.

I think so. Check Moz dot com OpenSiteExplorer. Check your competition too and see how much they have. Domain authority and page authority are still important. If you changed your site index and layout, that can affect the pagerank flow. That's a big part of SEO.

You know you could have rewritten the url so that .html forwards to .php with htaccess
