Also, things to pay attention to when we discuss stock:

Volume: this is important, without volume the stock will not increase the way we want it to. Good volume is usually 5-10 times the average volume or more.

market buy/sell: usually this shafts you because it buys the stock at the highest current price. ALWAYS LIMIT BUY (unless you need to get into the stock ASAP.

Limit buy/sell: best option to use because YOU set the price at which you buy or sell. (in Robinhood it's in the upper right hand corner of the app, click buy, and you'll go to a new screen with market types)

Stop loss: set it to preserve gains in case a stock takes a dump.

SEC: Where you should research the most, companies have to file with the SEC when they do just about anything. This is great because the documents allow you to view what assets the company has or interpret what a company may do in the future.

(important note, if a company is under $1.00 then it MUST raise it's stock price or be kicked off the exchange. These companies usually HAVE to bump their stock over $1.00)

Well the thing is they're not just making the price of the stock go up, they're also lowering the volume when they reverse split.
Basically the overall price still stays the same.

If you have 5 stocks worth $0.20 (cost basis $1) and they do a 5:1 reverse split, you still only have $1.
