Yeah. That's supposedly what's going to happen during the credit crisis economic meltdown. You literally won't be able to withdraw anything for a while because all electronic commerce (even checking) is based on credit, and it'l be temporarily frozen.

Best have enough cash for a few weeks so you can get gas, groceries, etc.
