Go pro shares are quite low currently.
Only last year they were in the 80's I believe now they're around 17 or something.
With the release of their drone and their new camera next month do you think it is a good idea to buy some stock quick?
I think GoPro is a risky bet. They lack diversification. They tried to make cameras into a lifestyle, but that didn't really work so they aren't differentiated from any other sports camera. And any other electronics maker can enter and steal market share.
I'd also wager that the introduction of the selfie stick probably hurt them considerably since it introduces a new perspective.
You should have bought it before the announcement. That's when they spiked, and then rescinded. The only thing that will propel them up is very large sales for fourth quarter, and it won't ever go back to the levels it was at after the IPO.

What do you think about larger GoPros that can be strapped on any device or vehicle (cars, trains, mining trucks, tossed into forest fire from above etc) that would do a lot of quantitative measurements as well?

If they do that, that could be of value, but only fill a niche, so the potential is limited. I think GoPro deals in commodities at this point.
Personally if they are just releasing a drone now it speaks to their inability to stay ahead of, or even keep up with, "the times".
If they could somehow differentiate and become the "Go-to" cameras for self-driving cars that would make them a valuable company, but like i said, cameras are commodities today

Alright, thanks.
