there is this guy at my job who is 68yrs old. he can retire but he says he doesnt want to because he is scared he is going to die. i wish he could retire so i could take is place (i'm just a temp worker)
i never heard of such a thing, being scared to retire. what does he mean by this?

>what does he mean by this?
he probably means exactly what he said
Imagine working your entire life then suddenly your whole lifestyle changes. Routine is sanctuary for some people. Ever see the Shawshank Redemption?

I know exactly what he means. My grandparents were "forced" out of work. They are now continually depressed, having fights, and just waiting to die while getting extra depressed when they see they cannot provide for their children anymore.
Jesus christ, I'd love to retire early
Spend morning daytrading, hitting the gym, going to the beach, Yoga, building Gundam model kits, wrenching on your shitbox, watching pirated movies, exploring abandoned mines and silos, finishing your backlog of video games, building a sikk ass hydroplane
Money actually has very little importance to life. It's just a means to an end
Having no family, and spending all day in an empty home with nothing to do will kill you very quickly in your old age

>oh vey goyim freedom is scary! Work for me your entire life and I'll make you feel safe and comfortable!
Stupid people sure can be convinced of the silliest things.

The man has defined his life by work.

My dad retired last year at age 60 and now he just mopes around at home depressed
This is why it's good to have hobbies outside of work and not making it your whole life

>backlog of video games
What am I reading?
If you are over 25, you're not gonna make it.
I haven't seen a video game in 10+ years...
You should have a fucking reading list backlog or study list backlog, or project backlog FFS.
