Hi /biz/. Can we discuss the Card Reader market? Curious to see if anyone uses a Square, Paypal, or Stripe for their business and the general experience of each. I'm about to setup a Stripe account, mostly because we don't actually need the physical reader. Square charges 3.5% per transaction for manually entered charges, which I find kind of ridiculously un-competitive.

And you must realize that most cc transactions cost almost double what square charges.

Small credit card reader? It is big by its nature, and the devs knew it very well, so they had to strategically lie for the psychological effect, and state the opposite. It is god damn huge
i have the paypal one, but never use it. no one trusts that shit and always prefers to pay cash

I used square over the weekend to accept payments for on the spot photography. It is really easy to use, you just input the charge and swipe.
Square is the most known one, so it has some security branding. People see it as safe and it is accessible to old people. You cant tell an old fuck "ok send the money to my paypal" and expect them to do it properly or think its safe.
