Don't go for expensive but for stuff that is a hassle to go and buy yourself and will last long. Like a pair of scissors or a box of elastic rubber bands.

I knew a guy who before he got fired from a job stole the following (and probably more that he didn't tell me about):

Two spinny chairs (idk the official name)
The mat that goes under the spinny chairs
Multiple bags of salt during the winter
Gas via the company card
A indestruiel strength snow shovel
A lawn mower

Eventually he got fired for activities unrelated to the thefts. They never found out about them (they might have, but didn't say anything).
It was a huge company.

my office has boxes of each type of office supply that they are going to donate to the local school district. They've been collected for about two years now. My first day I got a stapler, a box of staples, a box of paper clips, those really huge black clips, tape dispenser with extra rolls
