Hello fellow biz enthusiasts, I currently have a business in the works but, after speaking to a friend I had been told it may be a conflict of interest because of the company that I am currently part time employed with. My question is how should I go about this? I mean, I am currently studying to get a bachelors but, I don't want to get sued by my company. My company doesn't even off the service I will provide, but I guess they could view it as a financial loss to them. Any suggestions?

Read your employment contract.

"Conflict of interest" is a meme.

>employment contract.
are those a thing where you live?

where I live if you have a contract you're not an employee. You'd be a contractor.

That's what I was planning on, anyone else experience this before?
>>

So what is the service? How similar is it? They could potentially sue you if you leave and start directly competing with them for customers.

If you work for a company that sells shoes, as long as you don't have a non compete clause in anything you signed with them. You can quit and then make a company that makes shoes that competes directly with the company. The only caveat to this is that you cannot make identical shoes because this would violate intellectual property. A company cannot sue you for competing with them. That's fucking ludicrous.

You're a fucking beta and the entrepreneur lifestyle is clearly not for you. Do you think Mark Zuckerberg sat around asking himself about "conflict of interest"? Do you think Bill Gates sat around wondering if his employer would be pissed off? God. This generation makes me fucking sick. Get off my board.

Quit your faggot part time job and do what i do, someone files suit threaten to beat their ass. If they don't drop ot then actually beat their ass. 3 ass beatings and 0 law suits. I'd say it's win/win. Not to mention i study asset protection. So, on paper I'M NOT WORTH SHIT DRON.
