I'm a damn college student who has way too much free time on his hands to not experimenting on a business but can't make up his mind.

I like both projects but I think I'm more unlikely to give up on the longer one.

My day job is my main focus, but I'm taking classes on the side, I run a few very small profit-generating projects, work with a few non-profits, etc.

It's all totally doable, you just have to have excellent time management.

Nothing about your dreams/five year goals

So I can't give you any personal advice.

BUT from my experience:
I'm starting to see the virtue in doing lots of smaller projects.
I've spent the last two years of my life more or less focused on one creative project, it's cost me my social life, it's drained me emotionally. The payoff could be huge (that remains to be seen), but I wonder if I had of done a series of smaller projects would I have gotten the same payoff?

In the past when I'd do like one creative project every 1-2 months, I certainly felt more accomplished. I felt like I was achieving. It also meant I was honing a bigger palette of skills rather than just zeroing in on the one.
My mind was more active.

a) is probably the way to go

get experience on small projects first so you don't fuck up your major project.

c) is dicey. studies have repeatedly shown that dividing your attention drops your productivity like a stone. if we're talking taking turns, working a few days on each, it can theoretically be okay or slightly beneficial. if we're talking doing them both simultaneously each and every day - fuck no, you'll fuck up both and take way longer than if you did both sequentially.
