WHY IS NO ONE SHILLING?
My god so many minutes no replies...
This board isn't about wanting to do well, it's about shilling crypto memes.
Fuck.
Worked for a Big 4 firm and they were investing tons in to cyber security. OP is right.

Because of the sensitive nature of these things, would it prevent Chinese and Indians from coming over and dominating the space? That has kept me wary of IT in the past. Now I work for comparative peanuts as a Network Security guy for a local public library. Would be interested in doing cybersec.
OP is correct.
Web designers are so wrong, if I had my time again I'd go into cyber security, it's a fucking goldmine and cyber security is currently getting exponentially fucking worse with the creation of crypto locker bullshit which has made malware a much MUCH greater financial concern to ALL businesses, and puts security right at the front of their priorities.
There's a pile of money that's growing to absurd sizes in this field, it'll be the best paid profession within a few short years.
There's no long term future in it.

But who else is going to go through your browsing history and report your trap porn to HR?
>>1495209
Actually lots of entry to mid level jobs are mostly just analysts, and they can still pull $70k starting.
To be a non meme CS person sure you need to know programming, which is CS, but many programs include CS in their netsec programs. Also you could just become a CS consultant for companies on a contract or full time basis or just become one of the CS team leaders and educate employees on how to be secure.
There are limitless ways to apply your skills by studying Cyber Security.

I mean, I understand that there are jobs for analysts for compliance enforcement and stuff, but how are you supposed to know about securing systems if you don't even know how they work?
>learning cybersecurity
>from a public institution
'no'
>>1495130
no you're just a racist and a terrible person.
you're more likely to get the job anyway
>>1495227
$70k starting is peanuts for CS majors. You can get $150k+ starting shitting out Javascript.
>>1495577
fucking where, poo in loos take those shitty jobs and literally poo out code for minimum wage.
>>1495577
K you're such a dumbass.
>>1495247
I agree. However, what would be the best course to take to git gud?
cyber security is a meme
