Hi guys, I'm a sole trader based in Australia and I would like to know what the best type of bank account I should open for my business?

Thanks in advance! Cheers

go and talk to your bank

last I recall you can't open a business account if you're not properly registered

I spoke to them today but I'm still shopping around.

I do have all the necessary registrations (ABN, TFN, GST) that are required in Australia to open a small business acc.

I coulda swore you needed to register your business name.

stay away from Anz

other wise just find one with cheap and flexible overdraft facilities and cheap EFTPOS transactions.

I have registered my business name, however in Australia you are not required to register a business name if your name is in fact in the business name (e.g. Joel Mitchell Plumbing). And my business has my name in it :)

I think you'll find you're not required to register a business name if your name is the business name (e.g. Joel Mitchell)
