Finance and Economics go hand in hand, but if you want a job in Economics you need to be top of the top in students.
Focus on Finance or get A+ in every Eco class.
Best choices are Math, CS, Finance, Statistics.
Comp Sci

history and study the trends of the past and find something good that people did and try to copy it to a degree and help people economically and politiically and socially and spiritually
Forever wishing my school offered a finance and Econ double major...
OP, I'm going with a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in Political Science. Trying to take a lot of quantative heavy Econ courses and balance that out with writing intensive poli sci courses so I can look pragmatic during interviews

Statistics ( become a quant or a actuary)
Engineering management ( become a project manager)
CS/IST ( become a business analyst)
Math ( lots of options)
Advertising ( be an employable creative)
Finance ( banking)
If it is not a BS in econ.don't bother.
Double majors are a massive meme. Just do a BS in econ, take some finance, math, whatever classes on the side. GET HIGH GRADES. NETWORK. INTERNSHIPS. These are far more important. Don't fall for the multiple majors meme. Econ is more than enough to get you into banking, sales, even software engineering.

^ hes right. A bachelors in anything only gets you so far. Experience is huge, HUGE. Some degrees will make you more appear more versatile and marketable than others in finding those entry level/internship jobs. However, I've seen people with all sorts of misc. degrees prosper in various different industries.
