So is book actually as people claim it is, or it just a meme?
The latest edition is almost half a century out of date.
it's the perfect book to read if you're a kid and you're like "well i have some savings, let's do stocks or whatever!"

It's a good guide on how not to be a total fucking idiot in the stock market.
It's also helpful that each chapter ends with a commentary section that breaks down what the previous chapter is about and provides more recent examples from the late 90's - mid 2000's.
So it's not really out of date and the mad wisdom Graham spits still applies today.

Yeah that's the impression I got. I don't know if another book would be better for a general introduction though; I barely know what a bond is. Should I gain a more basic knowledge before reading Graham's books?

Bump, I'm reading TII also, but I wouldn't mind a Baby's first foray in the stock market book recommendation.
Not something that tells you how to detect good stocks, but the basics,
What is a bear or bull market?
What is long or shorting?
How to differentiate the different stock options for a same company?
Etc.
I now know the answer to those questions, but it would be a great resource to have.
I suggest you guys subscribe to invest like a boss podcast.
